The Brighton Youth Commission’s annual SPEAK (Suicide Prevention, Education, Awareness and Knowledge) Week will be April 29 to May 4 this year, and it has partnered with The Pennock Center for Counseling to bring another resource to the community for the occasion.
Attendees will learn how to question, persuade and refer someone who may be suicidal, how to get help for themselves or learn more about preventing suicide, the common causes of suicidal behavior, the warning signs of suicide and how to get help for someone in crisis.
Even though the classes are free we ask you to register in advance for the class. You can register at http://bit.ly/QPRtrainingtix or by calling Abby Martinez at 303-655-2186.
SPEAK Week is designed to promote awareness in the community and among their peers about the warning signs of suicide, and awareness of local resources for those who are struggling.
