Eagle View Adult Center to offer Wednesday evening programs in 2019

Eagle View Adult Center is ringing in the new year by changing its hours. Starting January 9, Eagle View will be open until 8 p.m. on Wednesdays to offer later classes. 


Earlier this year surveys were sent out to residents and many people requested evening classes. Manager of Eagle View Adult Center Sue Corbett said, “This is an exciting time for Eagle View Adult Center as it begins to serve the community who work full-time jobs.”  


The new extended hours will offer a variety of activities such as movie nights, structured classes and presentations. The following activities are currently scheduled:

AARP Smart Driver Course
Take AARP’s refresher course of safe driving practices and road rules. Reduce your risk of getting in an accident and get a discount off your auto insurance from most companies for completing the course. 

Feb. 27
5:30 - 10 p.m.
$15 for members, $20 for non-members 
Deadline: Mon. Feb. 25

Aging Mastery Program
In this 10-week course, you will gain critical information through expert speakers, group discussions, and peer support.  Each week will address a different topic to include exercise, sleep, healthy eating and hydration, financial fitness, advanced planning, healthy relationships, fall prevention, and community engagement.

Bird Watching for Beginners
The Bird Conservancy of the Rockies will be presenting an interactive, hands-on experience teaching you the basics of bird watching in and around Brighton.

Colorado’s 14ers
Learn how recreational use and natural protection coexist on Colorado’s 14ers and some of the ongoing research to manage high-altitude hiking.
