The City of Brighton’s Eye for Art program is proud to announce there are two winners for the 2018 People’s Choice Award for the Eye for Art Sculpture-on-Loan Sculpture Walk at Carmichael Park: Lawrence Starck of Loveland and Kathy Wardle of Brighton will each receive $500.
Starck received the award for his "The Farmer" bronze sculpture and Wardle received it for "The Warrior" bronze sculpture.
These two sculptures, in addition to three others, have been on display around Carmichael Park since May 2017. During this time, visitors were encouraged to vote online for their favorite piece. Paper ballots were also handed out at events held at Carmichael Park like the Annual City BBQ. All five sculptures were created by local and regional artists.
The sculpture exhibit will be on display until March 2019. Our visitors have had the pleasure of strolling among these visually engaging sculptures that are for sale and on display. Parents have been seen stopping with their children to view and discuss the artwork and high school students have also been seen posing for photos and selfies near and around the sculptures. The positive impact these sculptures have made is visible each day through our visitors.
If you are interested in acquiring one of our sculptures please contact Laurie Lozano-Maier, the Eye for Art Coordinator at 303-655-2034 or view our website at: http://brightoncoarts.org/364/Sculptures-on-Loan-Project
