Brighton PD receives Governor’s Award

PD gov award

Congratulations are in order for the Brighton Police Department. On Tuesday, Sept. 11, Brenda Palacio, Executive Administrative Assistant to Chief of Police, attended the annual dinner at the Governor’s mansion and accepted the Governor’s Summer Job Hunt Award on behalf of the department.

Brighton PD was one of only eight businesses across Colorado to receive this award.

According to the state of Colorado’s website, “The Governor’s Summer Job Hunt has connected young people ages 14 to 24 with work experience since 1981. Generations of Colorado workers– more than half a million– got their start through the program with employers who were willing to give young people a chance. These youth-friendly employers are at the heart of the Governor’s Summer Job Hunt. Without them, there would be no summer jobs, no exposure to the world of work, no access to career track employment opportunities.”

The department credits receiving this award to Palacio’s hard work in employing temporary employees in coordination with Adams County Job Services.
