The City of Brighton is pleased to announce it will once again be offering its popular Trash Bash drop-off program for Brighton residents for large item disposal. Residents wishing to get rid of large items may do so from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 2 or 3. All items must be brought to the Brighton Wastewater Treatment Facility, located at 325 North Kuner Road. Small loose items must be containerized and total weight must be relative to the type of container.
Acceptable items include:
• Furniture
• Cabinets
• Appliances (no refrigerators or freezers)
• Bicycles
• Carpet (must be cut up)
• Doors
• Lawn/yard equipment
• Branches (cut less than 5 ft. and bundled securely)
This service is for residents that live in the city limits of Brighton only and no commercial or industrial facilities will be allowed. Brighton addresses do not necessarily mean that you are Brighton resident. A City of Brighton water bill or suitable proof of residence is required as well as identification such as a driver license. A suggested donation of $10 will be accepted to help defray from the cost of the service. Tires will be accepted for a fee of $5 each. No oversized tires are allowed.
In addition, the city will provide pick-up service between April 30 to May 1 for the elderly or those with special needs. To request pick up, please call 303-655-2034.
Items not allowed include: household trash, commercial waste, concrete/home improvement project debris, grass clippings, televisions, computers, air conditioners, freezers, microwaves, refrigerators, office electrical equipment, car bodies, smoke detectors, all liquids, paint, motor oil, pesticides or chemicals as well as any material that is toxic, corrosive or explosive and no sealed containers with unknown contents.
