Local merchants offer aid to vandalism victims

Police Car

Brighton officers are investigating a series of cases in which victims’ tires were slashed overnight, and are asking that anyone with information or video that might be related to these cases contact them at 303-655-8740.

Police have received multiple reports of vehicles with their tires cut during the overnight hours of Tuesday, September 11, 2018, and believe the damage was done in a series of crimes committed by the same person or persons.
In a gesture that perfectly captures the sense of community found in the city, three local merchants have offered discounts on their products and services to those impacted by the apparent vandalism spree.

After hearing from Brighton Community Service Officer Gail Ashley that several residents of Brighton had tires damaged on their vehicles, mangers at Discount Tires (4040 E. Bromley Lane), Les Schwab Tire Center (163 S. 50th Avenue), and Peerless Tires (1212 E. Bridge Street) have all said they would discount prices on tires and services to replace the damaged tires. In order to receive the discount, victims will need to tell store employees they were victims of the crimes, and provide a police case report number.

Again, police ask that anyone with information or video they believe may help solve these crimes call their tip-line at 303-655-8740.
