Trash Bash

The City of Brighton will once again offer its popular Trash Bash drop-off program for Brighton residents in need of large item disposal. Residents wishing to dispose of large items may do so from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. May 3 and 4. All items must be brought to the Brighton Wastewater Treatment Facility, 325 North Kuner Road. Small loose items must be containerized and total weight must be relative to the type of container.

Acceptable items include:

  • Furniture
  • Cabinets
  • Appliances (no refrigerators or freezers)
  •  Bicycles
  • Carpet (must be cut up)
  • Doors
  • Lawn/yard equipment
  • Branches (cut less than 5 feet and bundled securely)
  • Nail-free lumber less than 8 feet length

This service is for residents who live within the city limits of Brighton only. Brighton addresses do not necessarily mean that you are Brighton resident. A suitable proof of residency (utility or phone bill) is required as well as identification, such as a driver’s license. No commercial or industrial facilities will be allowed. A suggested donation of $10 will be accepted to help defray from the cost of the service. Tires will be accepted for a fee of $5 each. No over-sized tires are allowed.

In addition, the city will provide pickup service between May 1-2 for the elderly or those with special needs. To request pick up, please call 303-655-2034.

Items not allowed include: Televisions, household trash, commercial waste, concrete/home improvement project debris, grass clippings, televisions, computers, air conditioners, freezers, microwaves, refrigerators, office electrical equipment, car bodies, smoke detectors, all liquids, paint, motor oil, pesticides or chemicals as well as  any material that is toxic, corrosive or explosive and no sealed containers with unknown contents.
