Adams County Household Chemical Collection
Any unused or leftover chemical products in your home such as cleaners, paints, paint thinner, nail polish and polish remover, and lawn care products can be a potential danger to you, your family, and the environment. Residential household hazardous waste can be dropped off at Veolia Colorado Recycling Center year-round on specific days by appointment only. The City of Brighton is unaffiliated with any of the organizations listed below. This list offers up the following resource links as options for citizen needing to recycle items.
Appliances:
- Free for some appliances and other items (please see website for list of accepted items).
Xcel Energy Refrigerator Recycling Program
- Free for Xcel customers, plus a rebate. Please see website for information.
- Free for some items, others require a recycling fee (see website for pricing). Pickup option available(see website).
Junk:
The following organizations offer recycling for various items. Some of the charities provide opportunities for tax deductions on donations (please contact each charity for more information about tax deductions opportunities).
- Mattress recycling - See website for rates. Spring Back Colorado offers mattress recycling for a reasonable cost. Mattresses can be dropped off, or for an additional fee a pickup can be scheduled.

- Best Buy offers free recycling for various household electronic items (please see website for full list of accepted items). Best Buy currently accepts recycling of televisions under 32.”
Vehicles:
Below are some charities that will tow away vehicles for free. The vehicles do not need to be operable. Donating to these organizations can offer possible charitable donation tax deductions (please contact each charity for more information about tax deductions).
