Mayor's Challenge for Water Conservation
The Wyland National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation runs April 1 through April 30. With your support, Brighton can come together to conserve water, energy and other natural resources.
City of Brighton Mayor Greg Mills is joining mayors across the country who are asking residents to make a long-term commitment to reduce pollution and manage water resources more wisely. In return residents can win $3,000 toward their home utility payments, water saving fixtures, and hundreds of other prizes. Plus, one lucky charity from a winning city will receive a 2022 Toyota Highlander Hybrid to serve the community.
Join Mayor Greg Mills and Brighton City Council in the pledge to save water. Together, we can all take small, daily actions to reduce waste and promote the sustainability of one our most precious resources: water.
Click below by April 30 and pledge to conserve water. It only takes a minute, and if our city receives the most pledges, participants will be eligible for hundreds of prizes, including water-saving devices, home improvement gift cards and a $3,000 grand prize.
About the Wyland National Mayor's Challenge for Water Conservation
The annual challenge is a non-profit national community service campaign that encourages leaders to inspire their residents to make a series of simple pledges at mywaterpledge.com to use water more efficiently, reduce pollution, and save energy. The program was started ten years ago by a handful of mayors who were looking for alternative ways to engage their residents more deeply about the coming water challenges in the United States.
Cities with the highest percentage of resident who take the challenge win. Cities will compete in the following population categories: 5,000-29,999, 30,000-99,999, 100,000-299,999. 300,000-599,999, 600,000+). Participants in the winning cities are eligible to win hundreds of prizes.
