Brighton police have arrested a Denver man, who was wanted on multiple arrest warrants, after he ran from officers asking him about suspicious activity.
On Thursday, February 8, at about 10:50 a.m., police were called to the Prairie Center shopping center on reports of two people who appeared to be using narcotics in a vehicle parked at the shopping center. When officers arrived, they found 22-year-old Devin Gonzales unconscious in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, and an unconscious adult female in the front passenger seat. After officers woke Gonzales, he got out of the car and became confrontational with officers, then ran from the scene. A short foot pursuit followed, and Gonzales was arrested after fleeing into an area restaurant.
Gonzales was booked into Adams County Detention Facility on the warrants, and faces additional local charges. The charges against Gonzales are merely accusations, and he should be considered innocent until and unless convicted in a court of law.
