The City of Brighton’s tree-planting program has nine species of trees available to purchase for residents. Trees distributed through this program are low to moderate water-demand species and have been proven to grow well in Brighton.
The trees will be 6-12 feet tall, are 1 - 1 ½ inches in diameter and are fairly light (about 15-20 lbs.) which makes them easy to transport and plant.
Trees available through the program include Bur Oak, Chanticleer Pear, Hot Wings Maple, Kentucky Coffeetree, Northern Catalpa, Glenleven Linden, English Oak, Autumn Brilliance Serviceberry and Sensation Box Elder. Trees cost $65.25. To place an order, visit our online store at www.brightonco.gov/treeprogram.
Residents will be able to pick up their trees in mid-April 2018. Participants of the program are responsible for all tree maintenance, pruning and watering. Master gardeners will be available to answer questions during tree pick up.
All trees purchased through the city’s tree program must be planted within Brighton city limits, on public right-of-way or on private property. Trees will be reserved when full payment is received. Payment is non-refundable and no warranty is available. Limit of three trees per household. Please call 303-655-2054 for more information.
