The City of Brighton Office of Youth Services will host Growing Grads FAFSA Nights/Survival Skills Workshops events for students and families preparing for college. The program will offer college information, assistance on filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form, local scholarship information, and refreshments.
New this year, Growing Grad events will feature a Survival Skills Workshop from 6-7 p.m. Whether attendees are headed to college or into the workforce, the survival skills workshops will give students the tools needed to gain control of their life.
Scheduled dates include:
Thursday, Oct. 12, at Brighton High School
Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Eagle Ridge Academy, featuring an interview prep workshop
Thursday, Nov. 14, at Prairie View High School, featuring a mindfulness workshop
Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Front Range Community College, featuring a Finance Workshop
Wednesday, Jan. 25, at the Shopneck Boys and Girls Club, featuring a healthy relationships workshop
The Growing Grad events will run from 5– 7 p.m. Brighton High School’s event will be offered from 6-7:30 p.m. and it will not feature a survival skills workshop.
Partners of the program include United Power, Counseling-4-College, Front Range Community College, and School District 27J.
