Brighton police have charged an 18-year-old Prairie View HS student as a result of threats and pictures he is alleged to have posted on social media sites.
The investigation began when police were contacted by school officials after a student showed a school administrator posts on a social media site linked to another student. The posts contained references to wanting to shoot students at the school. Further investigation indicated the student who was associated with the post did, in fact, possess numerous weapons and had recently made threatening or alarming statements to multiple people.
18-year-old Frank DeFiore was arrested on Friday, March 10th, and charged with one count of Interference with staff, faculty, or students of educational institutions and one count of Harassment. The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty.
